To take care of the garden, substitute the hose by a watering can. In that way, you only water the necessary area, do not overwater the plants and stay closer to them.
WASHING CLOTHES
The more you wash clothes at once, the more you save water! Turn the laundry machine on just when it is completely full.
WASHING CARS ON THE SIDEWALK
It is enough to use a 10 liter bucket to wet the car and 3 or 4 liters more to rinse it. Using the hose for that purpose results in a great waste. The same is valid for the sidewalks. We must use a broom to get the rubbish off instead of the hose jet!
CHECKING OUT FLOWS
They are a problem! A tap dripping, a hole in a pipe or a releasing pump that is unregulated can waste miles of liters of water in just one day.
WASHING THE DISHES
Before beginning to wash the dishes we must take the rest of food off and leave the pans and dishes in clear water for some time if they are too dirty. Soap everything with the tap closed, open it just to rinse.
BRUSHING THE TEETH
When brushing the teeth, leave the tap closed while brushing them! We spend, approximately, 10 liters of water when we brush the teeth for 5 minutes with the tap open. To save water, open the tap just to wet the toothbrush and to rinse your mouth.
TAKING A SHOWER
A fifteen-minute shower spends, as an average, 130 liters of water. To save water, it is enough to reduce the shower time; 8 minutes are enough to clean the whole body. Turning off the shower while soaping is also a good way to save water.
