Projeto Água - O Maior Bem da Terra. Preserve.

	At present, water scarcity and abusive use are something real. It is necessary and urgent the mobilization of society for this problem that is each time more severe. On account of this, Carbografite created, in October 2004, the NGO “Water Project”, developed to instruct society on the importance of preserving, saving and recuperating water resources. The project shows through its programs and through the Water Project Farm that the inadequate use of the natural resources has caused several negative effects on the environment and that a change in our habits is the best way to maintain life on Earth.

PROGRAMS
	Projeto Água, through its 4 programs, intends to show to the public that through small attitudes we can make a great difference:

Reflorestation Program	It consists of taking children, youngsters and adults to plant transplantings of native trees from the “Mata Atlântica”, since environmental education has been of great help in the process of behaviour changes, as well as in the use and valuation of natural resources. The development of a tree as time goes by may be followed by the people that take part in the program at the place of the planting.

Water is Life Program	It was created for children, youngsters and adults to realize, through speeches, group dynamics and discussions, the necessity of preserving the water resources.

Water for Everybody Program	Its aim is to divulge information and instruct society on the importance and the necessity of preserving the water resources. Among the performed actions we can mention the participation in fairs, distribution of informative materials and the website on the internet.

Recycling and Reusing Program	Its main objective is to promote the collecting process of solid waste and to diminish the waste, identifying and valuating the possibilities of reusing as a means of environment preservation. The programs include speeches and workshops that motivate a conscious production of waste, through the “three R” (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle).
PROJETO ÁGUA FARM
	The Water Project Farm is situated in Petrópolis, a city in Rio de Janeiro State, inserted in the Serra do Mar and contributor to the basin of the Paraíba do Sul river, with an area of 210000 m2 and 32 catalogued water springs. It is the principal tool of the NGO. It has areas devoted to educational activities to preserve the environment, for leisure and for support and training of volunteers. The Farm is intended to be a model place where its visitors can interact with the natural resources without degrading them.
